Sustainability

At the core of the Tabayer ethos is a deep commitment to protecting the Earth. Tabayer jewelry is handcrafted by artisanal, family-owned workshops that are all members of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC). All Tabayer pieces are made exclusively in Fairmined gold and set with ethically sourced diamonds, compliant with the Kimberley Process.

Fairmined is an assurance label initiative by the Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM). Founded in 2004, ARM aims to transform artisanal and small-scale mining into a socially and environmentally responsible activity, which improves the quality of life of artisanal miners and their environments. To ensure full traceability in line with the Fairmined standard, every stage of Tabayer’s supply chain from the mine to the business is audited. The mines undergo an annual, independent third-party audit, while refiners, manufacturers, and casters are audited every one to two years. The Fairmined gold standard offers a traceable chain of custody from our gold supplier through to our business. Tabayer sources diamonds from premier global sightholders—members of the Responsible Jewellery Council—with long-standing and direct access to diamond mines. All the diamonds we source are compliant with the Kimberley Process. The suppliers and their trusted network of partners are audited and certified by the RJC, which has an internationally recognized Code of Practices. This covers responsible ethical, human rights, social and environmental standards for the gemstone and jewelry business.
