Tabayer’s debut collection, Oera is inspired by a single motif—Inanna’s knot—an ancient Mesopotamian symbol celebrating the goddess of protection and fertility. With links to the Greek deity Aphrodite and the Roman goddess Venus, Inanna resonated with Tabayer for her rich, multifaceted personality and encapsulation of all women. Recalling a braided bundle of weeds, the knot is further reinterpreted through the lens of modernist sculpture. Capturing a kind of transcendental power and ethereal armour, the signature knot features a tactile, sensually rounded form that gradually acquires a knife-edge point, and culminates in asymmetric ends. Pure and elemental, the Oera knot finds expression in a single earring, cuff, pendant and bracelet, or is set into repeated designs or paired with a chain. Handcrafted in Italy and themed around 18k yellow gold, diamonds and pavé diamonds, Oera includes a total of 15 designs, available in a number of variations including a selection of pieces in white gold and diamond pavé.
